I don't hesitate to recommend Fur Hat World. I had a hard time finding a fur hat big enough and this one is perfect. It is very well made and warm enough for even our harsh Winters.
My "Rusky" hat is great! It is very comfortable, extremely warm and keeps my head and neck warm. Great for all kinds of outdoor winter month activities.
Fantastically functional hat! So I got this on a marvelous sale. After a few weeks of use, this is one of the biggest bargains I’ve ever made in my life. The hat design allows for converting from flaps/ears up or down on the fly (i.e. while wearing the hat) which makes it extremely versatile. I have another ushanka from another company that can’t. The black color of my particular hat means that with flaps/ears up, it can easily pass as a kubanka from the front as the black obscures the flap lines. It’s also very warm. I’ve worn it at 11 F/-11 C and not felt the cold at all. Also, provided it fits properly, the size above the head is so small that it easily fits under a parka hood in either position, making the weakness of an ushanka, it’s lack of shielding from the wind on the face, a non-factor. On my particular head, the hat is just loose enough to let my ears in at the band sneak under. Shipping was also trouble free. Best used below freezing or in wind chills below freezing as above that it tends to induce sweating, even while sitting. The leather flap ties are thick & easy to use. What a great hat!!
