Mouton Sheepskin Full Fur Russian Hat. This Russian hat is completely made with genuine mouton sheepskin including sheepskin ear flaps with leather ties. Quilt lined interior for comfort. The Mouton Sheepskin used for this hat is extremely thick and very warm.

Mouton fur refers to lamb hair which has been straightened and thermally set to produce a moisture repellent finish.

Gorgeous hat - very warm and comfortable and beautifully soft, as you'd expect from mouton. I wear a lot of mouton (called 'beaver lamb' in the UK) and own several mouton coats, scarves and pairs of gloves. This hat goes together very well when I wear one of my mouton coats! I first bought a rabbit ushanka. It is really warm but I wanted a more durable fur so I bought this mouton (sheared lamb). It has leather flap strings; the rabbit hat has cloth strings. A very high quality hat, extremely warm, and suprisingly light in weight. Looks best worn as a dress hat with a smart overcoat.
