A very nice hat. Pretty, soft, warm, cuddly, and high quality. Only problem is that the hat is not the exact size as expected. I followed the instructions to adequately measure my head's size and I am L. I own another Frr vintage pilot hat, size L and it fits me perfectly. With the Ultimate hat I ordered L at first, realized it was too small and exchanged it for an XL. A few days later, after wearing it a few times, I realized that the XL is also a bit small. Other than it being a bit tight, I must say that the hat is amazing, I love it.
this is the second hat i have like this, but this one is much better...all wool! the XL fits me perfect and i'm sure it will keep my head and ears quite warm. yes the belt could be tighter but that's no big deal. quick delivery! overall, quite satisfied!
Wind off Lake Erie in winter is frigid. This hat is great. Very warm, good fit. More comfortable than my old aviator hat. The quality is there to offset the price.
A real good quality hat only issue I have personally is I have a bald head and the labels on the inside can be a little finicky and itchy however the hat is great quality really warm does not let any air in whatsoever!! Really pleased
Received my hat today, the materials seem quality. However I am glad I ordered a 2XL - seemed tight at first but I know with time it will loosen up. The buckle for the earflaps at first glance appeared to have been sewn on upside down as the concave shape goes against the natural curve of the chin/jaw but upon a closer look it is correct. The buckle is the is the main issue I have with it, I had ordered it because I liked the buckle mechanism on this hat opposed to others but it is not what I had expected. Otherwise it is warm and it should work out fine.
I use this for dog walks in the middle of a large park with grass around. With 30 kilometre and hour winds blowing and 20 below zero this hat is a godsend!
Love this hat. Well made and very warm. Fits true to size and is comfortable. I would have given 5 stars if the buckle was easier to use. Very attractive hat that will be great during the cold days where I live.
The hat fits perfect. This surprised me. Has not been cold enough to use yet.
The only problem I have is undoing the chin strap buckle when its on. I may change it to Felcro or something.
The product is as good as it looks in the photo (which for me is very good)I measured my head and I came in at just over 23", which translates into "Large".....it is a tight fit and hope it may give a bit in time........if I was nearer, I would have exchanged for the next size up. Otherwise, product, customer service and delivery were all excellent (had it fitted better, a 5* review would have been fair)
Hat seems like a good fit, (listened to other reviews about size issues)Only problem is the eyelets on the chin strap. The hat has only three, none offering a stug fit under my chin. I will have to take the hat to a taylor and have it altered to fit my needs.
This is a very well made, high quality hat, unfortunately I ordered a large and I realized after actually measuring my head that I am an extra large, so the hat did not fit my head properly (who knew I had such a big melon?).
In the end I also found the style did not quite fit me so I mailed it back and am awaiting a refund.
Wore it to get the mail with temp at -1 and wind chill at -10. Kept my head warm. Had to put two extra holes in strap to get ear flaps tight enough and the back could be two inches longer as needed a scarf to cover neck.
a wonderfull warm hat arrived just in time for our snow very pleased with the service but not about the £17-60 that i had to pay extra but the hat is worth it
The only thing I wasn't crazy about is that the holes for the strap are not pre-done - I had to do them myself.
Delivery was fast.
