Shearling Sheepskin & Wool Aviator Hat - Charcoal

Inspired by the hats bomber pilots wore in WWII, the aviator style hat is best known as a fur trim "ear flap hat". Aviator hats feature fur on the interior of the ear flaps and around the back of the neck. They also have a large fur flap brim on the front of the hat.

Shearling is a sheepskin or lambskin pelt that has gone through a shearing process to obtain a uniform depth of the wool fibers for a uniform look and feel. Shearling garment are made from the pelts by tanning them with the wool of uniform depth still on them. A shearling pelt has leather or sueded leather on one side and shorn wool fibers on the other side. The fibers of shearling tend to wick away moisture or retain moisture, depending on humidity.
