When it comes to making style statements, Lady Gaga and Rihanna are two that are top of the list. From rebellious to over the top looks, they both always keep their fans on their toes.

Worn in two completely different ways, Mother Monster and Bad Girl RiRi both have been seen rocking an ivory floor length fur coat.

Usher: Coonskin Hat

A few weeks ago, everyone’s favorite R&B artist, Usher, made a guest appearance on the hit music show, The Voice. He himself wasn’t the only surprise to the show, but so was his Davy Crockett hat he has been caught wearing on various occasions.

Usher makes a great statement with this hat. Coonskin Caps truly are the perfect combination of fashion and function, revisited from yesteryear.

Rihanna’s Puffer Style Hat

Not only is Rihanna known to be one of the most famous recording artists around, but this actress, and fashion designer, sure does know how to dress herself.

One of her latest posts to Instagram shows her enjoying some cabin time for her birthday–decked out in purple and fur puffed winter wear.

Her fur trimmed Puffer Style Hat is complimented by funky All Fur Mittens that are even cooler than her matching purple lipstick.

Rihanna shows us that taking wardrobe risks can still be successful when its freezing outside–and in what better way than with fur!

Of course our favorite 70’s inspired fashion are the beautiful fur coats.  Recently fur has seen a resurgence in the fashion world and society as a whole. This is not only the affect of  American Hustle but also from top fashion designers who have incorporated fur into their recent collections.

American Hustle 2

Style Spotlight: Gillian Zinser

Known for her bohemian flair, 90210 TV star, Gillian Zinser, easily incorporates fur into her “downtown cool” attire.

This up-and-coming starlet’s eccentric style is often seen as a combination of vintage inspiration with high-fashion highlights.

Whether she’s out for the night mingling at a NYC art exhibition, or is strolling down Melrose on a hot California afternoon, she looks fabulous in fur.

Really, she shows us that fur can look chic with any style of outfit.

Celebrities Starting 2014 Off Right-In Fur

We are only 6 days in to 2014 and have already seen some bold looks from famous celebrities, if this is a sign of what’s to come in the New Year then we can’t wait.

Hollywood bad girl Miley Cyrus rang in the New Year in this gorgeous white fur coat as she performed her hit Wrecking Ball at Dick Clark New Years Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest.  Miley has never been one to shy away from the spotlight and always wears what she wants, this coat is no exception.  Although we don’t always understand Miley’s style we can definitely get on board with this fur coat.

Kathy Griffin was another celebrity who wore fur on New Years Eve but in a much more toned down and subtle manner than Miley Cyrus.  Kathy’s look is very elegant and the neutral fur trim on her coat looks gorgeous in our opinion.  If a full fur coat like Miley’s isn’t your style than a coat with a fur collar is the perfect solution.

Singer Rihanna and model Cara Delevingne were spotted spending their New Years Eve together in New York City, both looking fab in fur.  Cara chose to wear her fur on the hood of her jacket, a very common and popular choice when it comes to wearing fur.  Rihanna on the other hand decided on a full length white fur coat that was to die for, perfect for New Years Eve we must say. Her look was eye-catching and glamorous, which is very important when ringing in the New Year.

After all the New Years celebrations were over Kim Kardashian was spotted on a family ski trip in this fancy fur number, classic ski bunny.  We always love fur on the mountain, it’s ideal, oftentimes people chose to wear fur hats or headbands but Kim went all out with the fur jacket and for that we commend her.  The reality t.v star loves to be in the spotlight and her fur jacket did the trick.

So far in 2014 we have seen most celebrities wear their fur in the form of a coat or jacket, either full fur or fur trim, both very different looks but equally as fabulous.  We can’t wait to see what our favourite fur loving celebrities pull out for the year ahead and based on the choices from the first 6 days of the new year, it’s looking pretty good and from all of us at FurHatWorld, Happy New Year!

Style Spotlight: Peony Lim

Peony Lim is not like most girls, being in possession of a wardrobe rammed with vintage Hermès and Chanel, and an eye that looks further afield than her contemporaries for style tips… She is now a regular on street style blogs, and has legions of fans who coo over her polished aesthetic and her signature red lipstick.

– The Telegraph

When Peony isn’t being photographed–often wearing luxurious and fun furs–by street style bloggers, she herself spends her days traveling between London and Asia blogging away the topics that consume her life including her self-style, food, travel, fashion and beauty–oh, and she’s also a stylist and brand consultant too.

The way she incorporates fur into her daily wardrobe is nothing short of effortless and unique. Her style sense is easily transformed from one segment to another, and luckily for us we can witness these flawless fur looks on her style diary.

This White Fox Fur Collar is very versatile and adds a nice touch of luxury to Peony’s basic denim jacket. It’s a simple touch of fur that can be worm with a casual look or even a fancier outfit. The cool thing about our White Fox Fur Collar is that you can also wear it as a headband!

timthumb (2)

For quite some time now Fur Tails have been all the rage. Peony adds a cute blue ombre tail to her handbag for a dash of fur to match her all-blue look. Other cool ways to incorporate a Fur Tail into your look, is to attach one to your backpack, suitcase, purse, belt loop, or house keys.

Now, a Fur Stole is one of those accessories that is not only complimentary to a beautiful cocktail dress, but can also enhance any casual look. Peony pairs a stole with a white casual outfit for a simple yet put together vibe. Try styling our Exquisite Natural Red Fox Fur Stole with your favorite jean and blouse.

I have to admit, this photo of Peony was the first I ever saw of her, and instantly I fell head over heels in love with that Zhivago Pill Box Fox Fur Hat. There really isn’t anything more chic than a powderpuff of long, lush and silky fox fur piled high on top of your head.

It’s really easy to pair Fur Cuffs with your favorite fall or winter coat, leather gloves, or in Peony’s case with a basic knit blouse and leather vest. These Wide Black Fur Cuffs are super easy to add to any outfit, simply just slap them on to your wrist and you’re set for the day.

Peony’s style proves that there is no harm in adding luxurious fur accessories to your everyday wardrobe. Which fur accessory will you wear the next time you go out?

Style Spotlight: Olivia Palermo

Socialite, model and actress, Olivia Palermo is the kind of girl who is always styled effortlessly in statement pieces that your average American girl wouldn’t dream of putting together. That said…she’s got an eye for style!

Olivia showed up on most of our radars during her reality role on MTV’s The City, where she worked in the PR department for Diane Von Furstenberg and later the accessories department at Elle. When she isn’t being photographed front row at runway shows across the globe, or appearing on the cover of Marie Claire, you’ll still catch her posted up on numerous Best Dressed List’s.

This photo of Olivia is the perfect example of how well put together she is when it comes to showing off new style statements. Olivia looks gorgeous with her fur vest peaking out from under her coat, topped off with a fur cowl neck warmer. It’s simple styling like this can take a basic look to the next level of chic.

The mixing of textures with a tweed layer under a fur vest can work so well together, especially if both items are neutral colors. In many cases these days, the more textures the better.

Olivia is bound to catch peoples attention with any accessory she wears. This Russian Style Ushanka Hat is bold, yet classy, showing us how versatile her style is.

Hopefully Olivia’s fearless style will inspire you to mix some fur pieces into your daily outfits. And if you’re curious to see what Olivia’s next fur look will be, check out her style blog, Olivia Palermo.

Ellie Goulding Flaunting in Fur

One of the biggest “it” girl’s of the moment, British pop star Ellie Goulding shows of her seductive side in the style section of the 15th issue of Fault Magazine. Ellie doesn’t just share her story about her journey to achieving international fame, she shows us just how fantastic her style choices are when it comes to fur.

There is no surprise that we would see Ellie looking so alluring while draped in lavish and eccentric furs. With bold color choices, funky patterns, and elegant knits these aren’t your typical fur coats.

Ellie might make these high-fashion looks seem daring, but there are always alternatives that are cute yet edgy for everyday wear. If you’re in love with the color of this blue coat as much as we are, check out our Royal Blue Knit Rabbit Fur Vest with Finn Raccoon Trim.

Maybe blue isn’t your color and you look best in red? This fierce red coat Ellie is wearing is definitely tempting. For a more simple yet still magnetic red colored fur take a look at our Red Knit Mink Bell Bottom Shawl or Red Knit Rabbit Fur Vest with Finn Raccoon Trim. Style Spotlight: Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga is widely known for her fashion risks, she constantly grabs people’s attention with her “out there ” style.  Recently Lady Gaga released her latest single “Applause” so we thought this would be the perfect opportunity to applaud her decision to incorporate fur in to her fashion-forward, eye-catching looks.

Lady Gaga turned heads when she stepped out in this pink Hermes fur coat.  Many fans were outraged that Gaga, who was once very vocal about not wearing fur, stepped out wearing such an extravagant fur coat.  Lady Gaga tweeted in response to the backlash, “To those press and such who are writing about whether or not my fur is actually real, please don’t forget to credit the designer Hermes.”

Shortly after making waves in her pink fur coat Gaga once again went out in public wearing another fur coat, this time it was a more toned down grey fur coat that she wore in Bulgaria.

Once again Lady Gaga’s wardrobe choice caused chaos among animal activists and she released this statement,  “I do not however support violent, abusive, and childish campaigns for ANY CAUSE. Particularly one that I respect. “Animal Rights.” I am choosing not to comment on whether or not the furs I purchase are faux fur-pile or real because I would think it hypercritical not to acknowledge the python, ostrich, cow hide, leather, lamb, alligator, “kermit” and not to mention meat, that I have already worn. This should already put me in a category as one who appreciates and adores the beauty of animals in fashion, but am not a strict vegan.”

” I have truly always stayed away from skinned fur, especially i have never been able to afford a nice one, but this does not mean my morals are rigid and that I won’t bend at the sight of an absolute art piece of a coat. I have no chains about this. You see a carcass, I see a museum pièce de résistance. But I am truly sorry to fans who are upset by this, its a fair and applaudable feeling about the health and safety of animals. I respect your views, please respect mine.”

One of the qualities Lady Gaga is most admired for is her ability to not care about what anyone else thinks, this case was no exception.  She wears fur loud and proud and ignores what the critics have to say.  Gaga is truly fabulous and we love her ability to view fashion as art.  This week we applaud Lady Gaga for choosing to wear fur!

Fur: Everyone’s Wearing It

Fur fashion blog recently posted an article about anti-fur groups (failed) attempt to convince people not to wear fur.

Though some of the advertisements put out by these groups may seem convincing this informative and interesting article tells us otherwise.

By utilizing “famous faces” in their campaigns, animal rights groups have tried tirelessly to garner support from Hollywood elite, but we’d say they’ve  failed miserably.untitled

Even though anti-fur groups such as PETA make it seem like fur is irrelevant the fur industry is booming and sales are at an all time high.

With nearly 500 top international designers using fur in their collections, US sales nearing $1.3 billion, and global sales nearing $15 billion, it is clear that fur is still relevant in our culture. And though anti-fur groups may seem to find some…er…”stars” for their campaigns, the most well-known celebrities of our time are actively wearing fur fashion.

This article sheds a light on anti-fur campaigns and proves that organizations such as PETA are not all they’re cracked up to be. To read the full article click here!

Style Spotlight: Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer was featured in the latest issue of W Magazine and this photo of her in a glamorous fur coat was the talk of the town as soon as the images were released.

Take it back to the days when she was known as “Jenny From The Block”, she loved her fur even back in 2005

Here she can be seen in a Michael Kors Tartan Plaid Fur Coat, showing off her casual side but still keeping things fab.

Jennifer does not forget the ultimate fur accessory when it comes to her wardrobe, the fur collar.  She adds an elegant and classy touch to her overall outfit with this simple addition.

Finally one of my personal favorite, this exquisite fur vest!  Jennifer looks absolutely breathtaking in this glamorous and chic vest once again proving she is on top of her style game.  She knows how to incorporate fur in to her wardrobe even as her style and career evolves, this makes her a true style icon!

Style Spotlight: Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian is a worldwide fashion icon.  With various projects on the go including a clothing line with her sisters at Sears, a makeup line and several books, Kim never loses sight of her love for style.

Kim’s younger sister, Khloe, posed nude in a campaign for PETA but that hasn’t stopped Kim from wearing all her gorgeous furs.

Kim has many posts on her personal blog of her wearing fur, including this stunning full fur hat that she used in an impromtu photoshoot with her good friend Joyce Bonelli.

Kim enjoys fur in both casual and formal settings.  Here she is photographed shopping in a stylish fur vest, paired with jeans and a long sleeve tee, this is an ideal combination for a day out and about.

Below we see the new mom taking a fabulous selfie looking completely glam in a fur collar, proving once again that fur is extremely versatile and can be worn both during the day and at night.

Kim K. is a fashionista at its finest and if there is one thing we can learn from her it is to be yourself and wear what you want no matter what other people say.  When interviewed on the TODAY show Kim spoke about her views on wearing fur and told Ann Curry, “I believe everyone has the choice of what they want […] It’s not illegal to buy fur,” she explained. “I think it’s a personal choice.”  Regardless of her sister’s PETA campaign or the fact that she got flour bombed by an activist she still continues to enjoy the glamour and luxury of fur and for that we salute her in our style spotlight!

Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen Fur Diva’s

Earlier this week Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen celebrated their 27th birthday so we decided to take the opportunity to applaud their choice to wear fur loud and proud!

The famous twins looked absolutely glamorous sitting front row at the Jenni Kayne show in New York, both rocking fur in their own unique way.

Mary-Kate Olsen accentuates her emerald green coat with a stylish fur collar and ties her whole outfit together with a fabulous fur handbag.  Both the fur collar and hangbag were the accessories of the season this year and Mary-Kate looks stunning wearing both pieces in the same outfit.

How divalicious does Ashley look in this lavish coat?  This is glamour at its finest!

Here, Ashley wears a green fur shawl for an elegant event.  This shawl is the perfect mix of tradition and trendy, it is simply magnificent.

Finally, my favorite picture of the Olsen’s in fur was for a photo shoot they did for photographer, Terry Richardson.  The twins look absolutely stunning, with minimal hair and makeup, letting their fur provide them with the glamour they want.

We look forward to see what the future holds for Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen with their fur style, we are confident it will be nothing short of fabulous!

Your 30s are the time to be even more glamorous and daring while experimenting with your own personal style and new found confidence.

Women in their 40s can be just as sexy and stylish as their younger counterparts by mixing classics with modern chic looks and even a bit of sexy styling. The result is often sophisticated looks that have an air of maturity and comfort.

Nothing is sexier than a woman who shows her own personal style with confidence. Many women feel as if they can’t be as stylish as they were in their younger years, but as we know, age is no barrier to style.

Kate Middleton Accessorizes With A Fur Collar

Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton attended the wedding of professional polo player Mark Tomlinson and Laura Bechtolsheimer this week with Prince William and Harry.

William was an usher at the wedding so his younger brother Harry was Kate’s escort for the day.

Kate, who is expecting to give birth in July, wore a printed MaxMara Studio dress under an elegant cream colored coat with a Lock and Company Pillbox hat.  The accessory that caught our eye right away was of course her chic fur collar similar to our Black Fox Large Detachable Collar or our Black Fox Fur Headband that doubles as a collar. This collar instantly adds a touch of glamor to Kate’s neutral and classy outfit.

There is no denying that Kate Middleton always gets it right when it comes to fashion, she can do no wrong!  One of the reasons why we love Kate and women over the world find her so relatable is because her look is something the everyday woman can achieve.  A fur collar paired with a coat is something any woman can do to add elegance to her look.

We carry a wide variety of large detachable collars, so if you prefer more of a statement piece rather than a complementary one then our large detachable collars are perfect for you. If you like the look of Kate’s collar and the subtle simplicity of it then our Fox Fur Collars (that can also be worn as headbands) are exactly what you are looking for.  Our Fox Fur Collars come in a wide array of colors, from black to bright red the choice is yours!
