Brown Suede Leather Rabbit Fur Aviator Hat January 30, 2013"Well, it just occurred to me that I ordered the brown hat, but got a black one instead, but the hat is great; Warm and fluffy. I collect obnoxious hats and this fits right in with the best of them. I know that it is odd, but this was purchased to be a sleeping hat (don't ask, but suffice to say that the people of the Victorian era "sleeping caps" were on to something...) but this hat is simply too hot. Perfect for embarrassing your wife around town or shoveling the driveway, however. It was a gem when it hit -11 recently, and I think the neighbors were then jealous instead of laughing. With the ear flaps down and the sound holes covered I think you could stand next to a rifle and not cover your ears - the sound deadening quality of the fur and suede is sublime, unless you need to hear something, then even with the sound holes uncovered it is still hard to hear with accuracy. But who cares, right? You've got a very large fluffy hat so who needs to hear things like "Watch out, grizzly bear!" One problem (besides the fact that it is black instead of brown...) is that I had issues with hairs falling into my eyes, or maybe the processing chemicals (that I cannot smell) burned my eyes or something, but I put it in the clothes dryer and tumbled it for 20-ish minutes and the problem seems to have stopped. I think there were some loose hairs - that I would expect any fur item to have as normal - that fell off. The overall quality of the hat is as good or better than I expected for fifty dollars, and shipping was quick and painless. The Chinese rabbit seems to be pretty much the same as a North American rabbit, in case you wondered. But now I kind of wish that I had the one that I had ordered instead of the black color." |
